Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer

Location: Tysons, VA, United States; on-site. Limited travel required.

What you will do

• Design building HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems for residential, higher education, commercial, science and technology, and federal facilities.
• Produce construction documents, drawings, specifications, reports, narratives, and surveys using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360.
• Perform load and energy calculations, equipment sizing and selection, system layouts, and engineering evaluations.
• Survey existing buildings and document HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems and components.
• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams, attend external meetings, review equipment submittals, and respond to contractor questions.
• Assist with procuring new work and developing client relations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience in plumbing and piping system engineering and design.
• Design experience in the MEP industry and knowledge of HVAC system design.
• Detailed knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and engineering calculation software.
• Ability to operate AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360.
• Ability to prioritize shifting projects and deadlines, plan and balance work, and communicate and organize effectively.

Nice to have

• Willingness to obtain an Engineer in Training certification.
