Entry-Level Plumbing and Fire Protection Designer

Location: On-site in New York, NY, United States; travel up to 25%.

Base salary: $68,000–$74,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Support projects from inception through completion of construction under the direction of team leads, project managers, senior designers, and engineers.
• Design and detail plumbing, fire protection, medical, and laboratory gas systems.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines to support constructability, maintainability, accuracy, and quality assurance.
• Participate in site observations, information gathering, and interactions with clients and contractors during design and construction.
• Implement designs and collaborate with technical staff while developing engineering design skills.

Requirements

• 0 to 3 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related science or engineering field is preferred.
• Professionalism, client focus, organization, time management, flexibility, resourcefulness, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong computer, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and meet deadlines.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active or interim Secret Security Clearance, or ability to obtain one.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu.
