Build & Release (CI/CD) Support Engineer

Location: Fully remote for candidates in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, or Canada; 8AM–5PM Pacific time zone

What you will do

• Provide frontline support through an approximately 50/50 split of Slack threads and tickets.
• Triage and troubleshoot build failures, broken pipelines, dependency issues, configuration errors, packaging problems, and artifact issues.
• Investigate Maven and Java builds, Docker images, Artifactory repositories, Jenkins jobs, and Spinnaker pipelines.
• Analyze incidents thoroughly, gather logs, reproduction steps, build metadata, and context, and create actionable escalation tickets.
• Maintain FAQs and internal documentation, create problem–solution one-pagers, and document recurring issues.
• Manage multiple parallel developer inquiries, meet time-based SLAs, and communicate clearly during investigations and resolutions.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in Build/Release Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or software development.
• Expertise with Git and GitHub, plus CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Build and release engineering fundamentals, Maven and Java build tooling, and understanding of the software supply chain lifecycle.
• Experience supporting artifact repositories such as Artifactory or Nexus and experience with Spinnaker or similar deployment orchestration.
• Strong troubleshooting, clear written and spoken communication, and understanding of the SDLC.
• Strong Linux and Unix command-line skills, scripting with Python or Bash, and container knowledge including Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle, containers, and artifact management systems.
• Profiles without CI/CD experience or with poor communication are not suitable.

Nice to have

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana.
• Prior SRE experience.
