Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SaaS)

Location: Remote within the United States; US citizenship and domestic US residence required. Tuesday night to Saturday morning schedule, approximately 10 PM to 9 AM U.S. Pacific Time.

What you will do

• Deploy, manage, and secure production SaaS environments across AWS and Azure.
• Improve platform reliability through observability, release automation, chaos engineering, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Automate common and repetitive operational tasks and troubleshoot applications, databases, networks, storage, operating systems, and load balancers.
• Collaborate with geographically dispersed, cross-departmental teams to solve difficult technical problems.
• Write documentation and training materials and train colleagues.
• Participate in on-call rotations supporting 24x7 incident response, issue triage, and problem resolution.

Requirements

• US citizenship and domestic residence in the United States.
• BSc in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or 2+ years with an achieved BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
• Proficiency with Python and experience with Java, Golang, or C#.
• Proficiency working programmatically with Bash or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure, and container orchestration technologies, preferably AWS EKS or Azure AKS.
• Experience troubleshooting Java and .NET applications, network and storage infrastructure, core Linux distributions including Debian, RHEL, SUSE, or Slackware, and Windows.
• Experience with one or more of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
• Ability to configure and fine-tune HA Proxy, Apache, Nginx, IIS, or a similar tool; configure New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, or similar monitoring tools; and work with deployment pipeline tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency developing and working with Infrastructure as Code, a desire to adopt emerging technologies and best practices, and strong verbal and written English communication skills for global collaboration.

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
• Certificates or equivalent demonstrated knowledge in cloud development and architecture, Kubernetes administration, Linux administration, or software engineering disciplines.
• Experience with SOC 2 Type 2, ISO-27001, FedRAMP, or IRAP compliance frameworks and GDPR or PIPEDA privacy regulations.
