Principal Engineer-Yield Enhancement (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Own semiconductor product and technology yield responsibility across parametric testing and wafer sort.
• Analyze production and engineering data to identify yield issues, failures, excursions, and improvement opportunities.
• Design, coordinate, and analyze IC manufacturing process experiments and evaluate their product and parametric impact.
• Use probe stations, parametric evaluation equipment, bit mappers, microscopes, and other test equipment for engineering data collection and failure analysis.
• Support new product introductions, process-flow implementation, product and process transfers, specifications, and process routes.
• Coordinate with wafer fab process, product, design, and test engineering teams, manage technical projects, and communicate findings to management and internal groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Microelectronics, or a related field, plus 10 or more years of relevant experience in semiconductor yield analysis and enhancement, defect and excursion reduction, process and product correlation, data analytics, root-cause investigation, corrective action, production learning, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of basic semiconductor device physics and electronics, including transistor characteristics.
• Understanding of basic digital and analog circuits, their components, and characterization.
• Overall knowledge of integrated-circuit wafer-fab manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with semiconductor parameter analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, generators, oscilloscopes, curve tracers, and similar test equipment.
• Knowledge of statistical functions and SPC, including normal distributions, Cpk, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.
• Ability to present information effectively to management and employees in writing and orally.
• Understanding of probability, geometry, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, solve problems, and drive improvement activities.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Microelectronics, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certification where job-related and approved.
