AWS Field CTO (AI)

Location: Remote, Columbia, MD, United States

Salary: USD 260,000–275,000 yearly

What you will do

• Drive AWS data platform and AI application architecture pre-sales across North America, supporting proposals, workshops, demonstrations, and sales activities.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture workshops, solution demonstrations, and executive whiteboarding with CTO and CIO stakeholders.
• Partner with AWS field technical teams on solution development, co-sell motions, partner programs, and AWS Marketplace activities.
• Ensure effective pre-sales-to-delivery handoffs and maintain solution integrity through delivery activities when needed.
• Establish AWS architecture standards, best practices, team support, and accelerators across global architects and AI engineers.
• Contribute to AWS and industry thought leadership through case studies, blog posts, and speaking engagements.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in data or platform architecture, including at least 5 years in cloud architecture, solution engineering, or technical pre-sales with a deep AWS focus.
• Strong understanding and deep usage experience of AI.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, ML/AI services including SageMaker and Bedrock, and serverless technologies.
• Strong understanding of real-time and batch architectures and their implications for analytical and agentic systems.
• Experience working closely with sales teams in pre-sales or solution engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to design and present AWS-based solutions to technical and executive enterprise audiences.
• Experience engaging AWS field teams and navigating co-sell processes, partner programs, and AWS Marketplace.
• Exceptional communication skills across technical architecture discussions and business value storytelling.
• AWS certifications are required. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

Nice to have

• Solutions Architect Professional or specialty certifications in Data, ML, or Security.
• Experience with data engineering, generative AI, or agentic AI workloads on AWS.
