AI Solution Architect

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, MD, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TX, or VA. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary: $180,000–$210,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Assess, design, and oversee secure enterprise AI architectures across cloud and on-premise platforms.
• Apply AI and machine learning architecture patterns to improve scalability, reusability, security, and governance.
• Define platform-agnostic AI integrations with Salesforce/MuleSoft, Microsoft Power Platform/Dynamics, Pega, Box, and Appian.
• Lead enterprise AI integration efforts and validate architectural decisions through solution and security architecture approval gates.
• Establish AI governance covering model selection, human oversight, responsible use, and protection of PII and PHI under HIPAA and VA privacy requirements.
• Guide AI, machine learning, and delivery teams and educate VA stakeholders and platform leads on architecture options, tradeoffs, and adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, Operations Research, or a related field, plus at least 7 years of relevant experience; 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Demonstrated experience designing secure enterprise AI or machine learning architectures across cloud and/or on-premise platforms.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise AI integration efforts across multiple initiatives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust background investigation.
• Availability on contract award and willingness to sign a letter of commitment.
• Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
• Residence in one of the specified U.S. states and authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice to have

• Professional-level cloud architecture certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience architecting generative AI or large language model solutions for production use in federal, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
• Experience with FedRAMP, ATO, or NIST AI Risk Management Framework processes.
• Experience with AI capabilities on Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform, Pega, or Appian.
