Network Administrator (Palo Alto/Cisco)

What you will do

• Administer Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Catalyst switching, Cisco ISE network access control, and Cisco 9800 wireless infrastructure.
• Maintain network stability, availability, performance, documentation, device configurations, and operating procedures.
• Apply DoD STIGs and Army cybersecurity directives, conduct audits and vulnerability remediation, and investigate cybersecurity incidents.
• Develop Python, PowerShell, or Ansible automation for network administration, configuration, and compliance checks.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity and performance issues and provide senior-level support and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer or Senior Network Operator in a DoD or similar high-security environment.
• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance required.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required, such as CompTIA Security+ CE.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including PAN-OS and Panorama.
• Advanced Cisco switching experience with Catalyst 9300 and 9400 series, StackWise Virtual, and high availability.
• Experience deploying and managing Cisco ISE for 802.1X and NAC, plus Cisco 9800 wireless controllers and Wi-Fi 6 access points.
• Basic knowledge of F5 BIG-IP LTM load balancers and DoD STIG application for network devices.
• Basic scripting and automation skills with Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zero-Trust Architecture, Cisco SD-Access, VPN-less networking, secure remote access, and PASM/PAM solutions.
• Experience with IPv6, Elasticsearch, SolarWinds, Splunk, Wireshark, or other advanced monitoring and logging tools.
• Advanced certifications such as CCNA, CCNP Enterprise/Security, or PCNSE.
• Advanced scripting for complex network automation workflows.
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
