Lead, Product Management & Innovation (AI)

Location: New York or San Francisco, United States; minimum three days per week working in person at a Bain office or client location; regional travel required.

Salary: $197,300 annualized full-time salary, plus discretionary performance bonus and other discretionary compensation.

What you will do

• Apply human-centered design to uncover user needs, define product vision, and facilitate ideation, journey mapping, and service design workshops.
• Support the delivery of proofs of concept, minimum viable products, and client-facing products that generate measurable business and user impact.
• Define product requirements, user stories, product flows, roadmaps, prioritization, and backlog decisions across user, technical, and business dimensions.
• Apply product management practices to optimize delivery and run agile ceremonies while aligning clients, consultants, engineering, design, and strategy stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear language and assess trade-offs among user needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
• Contribute to AIS and Bain capabilities, internal initiatives, intellectual property, and the adoption of emerging tools such as generative AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience delivering innovation in consulting, technology, industry, or startups.
• Product management experience involving the development and launch of software, enterprise solutions, services, mobile or web applications, or other products.
• Familiarity with using user, business, and technical insights to guide product decisions and assess technical feasibility.
• Basic proficiency in product-managing software development, with exposure to AI solutions and experience using generative-AI product development tools such as Synthetic Users, V0, or Loveable.
• Knowledge of design thinking and experience leading or facilitating workshops; awareness of agile project management, Scrum, and Lean Startup methodologies.
• Ability to explain product technical aspects, rapidly interpret technical information, and understand modern design and development principles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, independent prioritization, collaboration in complex and ambiguous situations, curiosity, proactivity, critical thinking, and ability to work with multi-office and multi-region teams.
