Senior Auditor, BRCGS Food Safety

Location: Remote, United States; the position may be located anywhere in the U.S. Travel up to 80% of the time is required, including automobile and airplane travel, occasional international flights, and possible weekend travel.

Salary: USD 90,000–110,000 annually.

What you will do

• Perform third-party certification audits under hirify.global procedures and applicable FSSC 22000, SQF, and BRCGS standards.
• Collect and analyze audit evidence and determine whether certification should be recommended or continued.
• Apply the hirify.global Certification System and maintain compliance with internal, sector-specific, and accreditation requirements.
• Collaborate with audit teams and provide customers with complete audit coverage across accredited certification activities.
• Assist with training other Auditors and Senior Auditors and participate in witness audits conducted by hirify.global or accreditation bodies.
• Maintain audit credentials and complete other activities assigned by certification and technical accreditation managers.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years in Quality, Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), or production.
• Successful completion of Lead Auditor training of at least 3 days based on ISO 19011.
• HACCP training of at least 2 days, plus at least 2 hours of food fraud and food defense training, or PCQI human food training.
• Scheme-specific training, such as BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 training, including a minimum 2-day auditor course.
• Strong technical knowledge and application of applicable certification standards.
• Advanced English proficiency is required; Spanish or French is highly preferred.
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
• Proactive attitude, excellent organizational skills, sound decision-making under stress, multitasking ability, integrity, tact, and character.
