Senior Specialist, Research and Data Services (TMT - Telecom, Media and Technology focus)

Location: Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, or Warsaw, EMEA

Annual base salary: €39,250–€47,000 gross per year in Italy; eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus of up to 7% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct desktop research using business databases and other research tools for project teams and internal stakeholders.
• Clarify research needs, deliver accurate outputs, and apply local, regional, and global data sources.
• Develop TMT expertise and support complex industry research alongside general research across Bain’s areas of interest.
• Build stakeholder relationships, gather feedback, and resolve research-related questions.
• Maintain department assets, including acquisitions, cataloging, serials check-in, system updates, and circulation tracking.
• Deliver training, contribute to knowledge sharing and service evaluations, improve processes and tools, and lead small initiatives while coaching less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Experience in business research, competitive or market intelligence, or information services in a fast-paced consulting, market research, professional services, or equivalent environment.
• Broad knowledge of commercial, multi-industry, and economic topics, with the ability to build expertise in assigned areas.
• Fluent spoken and written English and fluency in your native language.
• Strong organization, prioritization, time management, and ability to perform under pressure.
• Experience working effectively with diverse stakeholders and across cultures.
• Proactive approach to improving efficiency and ways of working, with a growth mindset and comfort adapting to technology enablement.
• Degree in Information Science, business, or an equivalent higher education qualification.

Nice to have

• Previous TMT experience; this is welcome but not required.
• Experience with Factiva, LSEG, S&P Capital IQ, or similar business research databases.
