Senior Banking Software Project Manager

Location: Lisbon, hybrid, with up to 3 remote days per week. Only candidates with an existing legal right to work in Europe will be considered.

Salary: EUR 4,620–5,670 gross on B2B contract, or EUR 2,450–2,750 net on permanent contract.

What you will do

• Manage banking software projects from planning through delivery.
• Define and track functionalities, milestones, delivery plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project performance and report KPIs while ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
• Coordinate IT teams and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Apply Agile/Scrum methodologies and facilitate project governance meetings.
• Anticipate risks, resolve issues, and maintain project reporting and documentation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software project management experience, including delivery projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices.
• Experience planning, tracking, and managing project functionalities and risk mitigation plans.
• Expertise in delivery management and creating and monitoring KPIs.
• Solid experience working with IT teams and business stakeholders, including project reporting and stakeholder governance.
• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Practical experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in the banking sector, preferably within the Risk domain.
• Fluent English and French at C1+ level required.

Nice to have

• Technical background in in-house software development projects.
• PMI certification or an equivalent qualification.
