Software Developer In Test (SDET)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $85,389–$116,975 per year

What you will do

• Develop test plans, schedules, approaches, cases, scripts, and test data for information systems, products, and services.
• Lead manual and automated testing, verification activities, test reviews, and walkthroughs with technical and project stakeholders.
• Test web applications, APIs, services, and IT systems across functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and UAT scenarios.
• Document results, create daily metrics and reports, analyze defects, and support resolution of complex issues.
• Improve testing procedures, develop solution approaches, and contribute to requirements, design, installation, operation, and support activities when needed.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor junior testers, and communicate with internal organizations and external customers.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; candidates must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) and pass the required government investigations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 or more years of total professional experience, including 10 or more years in software testing and quality assurance.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, or Python; experience delivering complex software projects.
• Experience with both manual and automated testing, test plans, test cases, test scripts, test management, risk-based, exploratory, and context-driven testing.
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, and LoadRunner.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, and version control systems such as Git and Subversion.
• Understanding of performance testing and tools such as JMeter and Gatling; security testing practices; and database and SQL validation.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA and Bugzilla, and testing web applications, APIs, and services.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and deadline-management skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to understand business requirements, translate them into test scenarios, conduct test reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior testers.

Nice to have

• Advanced testing or quality assurance certification such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQA.
• Experience with EDI X.12 medical claims, including 837, 834, and 277 transactions.
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms such as AWS and Azure.
