Software Development Engineer (AWS Security Epoxy)

Location: Dublin, Ireland. The role requires the candidate to be a national of an EU Member State.

What you will do

• Design and deliver features for AWS Security Epoxy services that onboard threat detection, remediate security risks, and support automated incident response across AWS accounts.
• Own operational excellence by adding instrumentation, monitoring the right signals, and replacing manual operational work with automation.
• Write tested, maintainable code and documentation, including runbooks for service operation and extension.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, resolve high-severity incidents, and implement permanent fixes for their contributing causes.
• Improve system resiliency, scalability, and safety at very high scale through sound short- and long-term engineering trade-offs.
• Contribute to code, design, and operational reviews; mentor newer teammates and interns; and support partner teams in adopting sound engineering practices.

Requirements

• Professional software development experience excluding internships.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
• National of an EU Member State.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience with AWS services, Python, TypeScript, and security is beneficial but not required.
