What you will do

• Shape client and market strategies and translate emerging opportunities, client priorities and industry developments into business development initiatives.
• Lead strategic underwriting for Conventional Reinsurance and Retakaful portfolios across Malaysia and selected Southeast Asian markets.
• Drive profitable and sustainable portfolio growth through disciplined risk selection, underwriting quality and portfolio performance management.
• Build strategic relationships with clients, brokers, regulators and industry stakeholders, representing hirify.global at market events and professional forums.
• Lead the SRAL Malaysia Branch, chair the Branch Management Committee and ensure effective execution of business objectives.
• Act as the primary liaison with Bank Negara Malaysia, maintaining regulatory compliance, governance and operational resilience.

Requirements

• Deep insurance or reinsurance industry expertise across Malaysia and Southeast Asia, including Conventional Reinsurance, Retakaful, underwriting principles and portfolio management.
• Proven record of driving profitable growth through market development, client engagement and successful commercial strategies.
• Strong decision-making skills in complex business and regulatory environments, balancing growth with risk management and governance.
• Executive-level stakeholder engagement experience with senior clients, brokers, regulators and industry bodies.
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams, aligning talent with strategic priorities and inspiring transformation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills across functions, geographies and seniority levels.
