Senior Software Engineer (Android)

Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030, United States; onsite

Salary: $137,717–$216,000 per year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives

What you will do

• Assess business and customer requirements, classify gaps, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Contribute to user stories, solution design, detailed functional designs, and component trade-off decisions.
• Develop and configure application components that meet functional, non-functional, scalability, availability, maintainability, and security requirements.
• Build automation scripts for CI/CD and testing, implement telemetry, and support appropriate development tools and standards.
• Create and execute test cases, perform regression testing, analyze defects, and troubleshoot application performance and availability bottlenecks.
• Monitor application metrics and logs, conduct maintenance and re-engineering, evaluate change requests, and track approved milestones and timelines.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or a related area; or bachelor's degree or equivalent in one of these areas and 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
• Experience coding in Java and Kotlin using object-oriented programming.
• Experience designing and developing native Android applications with MVVM architecture and XML layouts.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, integrating REST APIs and data sources, and working with HTTP protocols and JSON parsing.
• Experience building Android features with Kotlin coroutines and asynchronous programming.
• Experience using Android Studio and IntelliJ for daily development.
• Experience using SQL and NoSQL databases for data retrieval through RESTful APIs or native queries.
• Experience deploying, managing, monitoring, and scaling applications on cloud platforms, including Kubernetes, Splunk, and OpenObserve.
• Experience using GitHub, Jira, and Confluence for source control, project tracking, documentation, and collaboration. The employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
