ABS Commercial / Esoteric – Director / Senior Director (NY / Chicago)

Location: New York, New York or Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Lead and support transaction analysis covering originator and servicer evaluation, collateral performance, bond-structure modeling, and legal documentation.
• Serve as lead analyst and primary contact for clients, deal arrangers, and investors.
• Prepare and present credit memoranda to rating committees and contribute to transaction reports for publication.
• Lead development of rating methodologies, topical research, and market commentaries as needed.
• Surveil outstanding transactions and update ratings when warranted.
• Participate in seller/servicer due diligence, investor discussions, and industry events, including travel where required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• More than 10 years of demonstrated credit-analysis experience within the ABS sector at a rating agency, buy-side investor, credit research organization, or similar environment.
• Strong Excel skills; an Excel test may be administered during the interview process.
• Strong analytical skills in transaction evaluation, including loan credit-risk assessment and analysis of asset and bond cash flows.
• Proficiency with relevant financial-modeling software, such as Intex.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; a writing sample may be requested.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, collaborate closely with partners, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and general productivity.
