Manager Engineering (Kubernetes)

Location: United States; office location in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Base salary for US-based candidates: $151,800–$273,200 per year. Candidates outside the US receive compensation that varies by location.

What you will do

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team building a cloud-native Kubernetes platform.
• Partner with product management and leadership to shape the strategic roadmap and deliver platform milestones.
• Drive technical excellence, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across platform engineering.
• Mentor engineers, support career growth, and foster an inclusive, collaborative culture.
• Manage delivery timelines, resources, and engineering operations in an Agile environment.
• Encourage innovative solutions, rapid development cycles, and open communication.

Requirements

• 8 years of software development experience, including experience in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Leadership experience in cloud-native platform engineering, organizational alignment, and operational efficiency.
• Track record of managing teams that build and operate highly available production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Technical foundation in containerization, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience hiring, developing, and retaining engineering talent.
• Expertise leveraging CI/CD tools to support effective software development practices.
