Firmware Engineer (C/C++)

What you will do

• Drive system architecture and technical solution development across firmware, ASIC, hardware, simulation, and infrastructure domains.
• Design and evaluate end-to-end system approaches, tradeoffs, and implementation plans for new product capabilities.
• Translate customer and product requirements into technical specifications, architecture documentation, and implementation plans.
• Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, simulation models, and C/C++ firmware and software components.
• Use simulators, development platforms, and hardware prototypes to characterize, debug, and validate system behavior.
• Lead root-cause investigations, risk mitigation, technical prioritization, and collaboration across architecture, firmware, hardware, and ASIC teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in hands-on architecture or design, including embedded systems and simulators.
• Experience with technical planning, grooming, estimation, risk management, requirements definition and clarification, and technical assessment.
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Experience with software and firmware development environments, including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and toolchains.
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, and UART.

Nice to have

• Embedded systems simulators, software programming, embedded development using hardware and firmware tools, and RTOS experience.
• Storage industry experience, particularly SSDs or enterprise storage.
• Docker, Ansible, structured software development, analytical problem solving, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Enterprise storage protocols including SATA, SAS, PCIe, and NVMe.
• SSD or enterprise storage security protocols such as Opal, ESSC, and AES.
• Software and firmware development processes, continuous integration and delivery, DevOps execution, and unit testing for code coverage and quality validation.
