Routing/IP Software Engineer - New Grad (C/C++)

Location: Ottawa, Canada

Salary: Annual pay range of $71,900–$114,900.

What you will do

• Develop new functionality in C and C++ for software components running on real-time operating systems.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, documentation, debugging, and maintenance.
• Reduce backlog defects and create scripts, test utilities, and development aids that improve designer efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, technical personnel, product verification, and test teams to resolve problems.
• Support large-scale software releases and delivery of the 6500 system to end customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Previous relevant internship, co-op, or applied project experience.
• Programming experience with embedded C and C++.
• Understanding of structured programming and software design concepts.
• Interest, aptitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn software development.

Nice to have

• Low-level real-time software development experience and knowledge of real-time operating system concepts.
• Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall software development lifecycles.
• Experience with embedded Linux or VxWorks.
• Familiarity with datacom and telecom concepts, including Ethernet, the OSI model, TCP/IP, and IP routing protocols.
