Analyst, Mid-Market Investment Banking

Location: Toronto, ON; work arrangement proportions of on-site and remote work will be discussed during the interview. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.

What you will do

• Support senior bankers in executing M&A advisory mandates for companies with enterprise values ranging from $10 million to $150 million.
• Research industries, potential buyers, M&A activity, market trends, and public valuation metrics.
• Build detailed financial models for acquisitions and recapitalizations.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis using comparable company, precedent transaction, discounted cash flow, and industry-metric valuation methods.
• Prepare business development proposals, pitch books, and confidential information memorandums.
• Assist Managing Directors with business development calls and meetings and maintain group databases.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Commercial Banking, or Investment Banking.
• Experience with financial analysis and modeling in Excel and creating business development proposals in PowerPoint.
• Some proficiency in assessing unstructured business problems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline and/or knowledge of business, economics, or finance gained through education and experience.

• Legal eligibility to work at the specified location and a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Nice to have

• Recent completion of or enrolment in the CFA, CPA/CA, or CBV program.
