Director, Capital Markets Finance

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site and the remaining days remote. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

What you will do

• Provide reporting and advisory support to Global Markets management on financial and business performance.
• Review daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly results and deliver timely analysis for Global Markets businesses and Global Equities desks.
• Support financial strategic and business planning, forecasting, market-assumption review, and assessment of regulatory-change impacts.
• Analyze actual-to-plan and DFE-to-GL variances, allocations, revenue, expenses, leverage, assets, liabilities, FTE, funding, liquidity, and capital resources.
• Advise business leaders on strategic and tactical initiatives, cost savings, business optimization, process reengineering, and implementation.
• Build partnerships with Global Markets, Risk Management, Operations, Technology, Treasury, and Finance stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Finance role.
• Professional accounting designation and/or a postgraduate business degree.
• Good financial accounting knowledge and the ability to understand complex accounting issues and summarize them for the business.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, judgment, and change-implementation capabilities.
• Ability to lead, take ownership, deliver results, investigate complex problems, and communicate detailed information effectively.
• Ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate with diverse business and functional partners.
