Technical Writer (Part-Time Contract)

What you will do

• Review and refine AI-generated technical documentation for product releases and Solutions.
• Optimize integration guides and tutorials, validating AI-drafted content with product owners, engineers, and subject-matter experts.
• Use OpenAPI specifications to ensure developer documentation is technically accurate and complete.
• Maintain the changelog and polish customer release notes covering changes, affected users, and key benefits.
• Provide backup coverage for the lead technical writer, including operational processes, stakeholder inquiries, and office hours.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience or strong interest in technical writing.
• Familiarity with REST API request and response payloads, status codes, and error responses.
• Basic familiarity with Git workflows, including branching, commits, and pull requests.
• Fluency in Markdown and willingness to learn MDX components.
• Strong attention to precision, consistent terminology, correct field names, and avoiding invented behavior.
• Ability to interview engineers and turn their input into accurate, up-to-date documentation.
• Self-direction in a part-time, remote, largely asynchronous role.

Nice to have

• Experience in technical support, QA, or engineering.
