Labour Market Information Specialist

Location: Remote in Canada; travel within Canada as required.

Salary: CAD 70,000–80,000 per year based on full-time hours.

What you will do

• Collect, analyze, interpret, and present labour market information at national, provincial, community, and neighbourhood levels.
• Monitor funder and customer activities, policies, key personnel, media releases, social media, and RSS feeds.
• Support Employment Services and Contract Manager teams in evaluating the Service Provider Network and operational performance.
• Develop and participate in research projects, including the WCG Employment Index, with internal and third-party collaborators.
• Lead localization for bids and disseminate labour market knowledge through graphs, interactive maps, resource spotlights, and communication strategies.
• Maintain the Resource Library, summarize best practices for Inclusion Groups, and prepare data for annual business plans and other reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, economics, business administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience compiling, analyzing, and presenting labour market information, related data, and reports.
• Experience developing, conducting, and analyzing surveys and questionnaires using survey tools that meet FOIPA requirements in Canada.
• Experience with research projects, preferably in the human services industry.
• Experience with government statistical databases, including Statistics Canada Census data.
• Data organization, collation, analytical report writing, and custom data visualization skills.
• Advanced to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, facilitation, written communication, multitasking, deadline-management, and independent-working skills; ability to adapt to constant change and provide administrative support.
• Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Strong proficiency with PowerBI and experience with interactive mapping software such as My Maps and QGIS.
• Research experience in the human services industry.
