Senior Accounting Expert / Accountant (SAP FI-GL)

What you will do

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for partnerships and limited companies within the Freudenberg Group.
• Record day-to-day business transactions accurately and resolve accounting issues under HGB and IFRS.
• Act as the General Ledger key user and technical contact for IT on accounting-related SAP maintenance, review, and process development.
• Maintain the chart of accounts, balance sheet tables, SAP FI-GL processes, and interfaces with the group reporting system.
• Prepare monthly VAT returns, ad hoc analyses, and support finance and accounting projects while meeting internal and external deadlines.

Requirements

• Completed commercial apprenticeship with further training as an accountant, or a degree focused on finance and business administration.
• Several years of professional experience in financial accounting and preparing annual accounts under HGB and IFRS.
• In-depth knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting standards.
• Very good knowledge of SAP FI-GL. SAP S/4HANA experience is desirable; proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.
• German at C1 level and English at B2 level are required.
• Strong numerical aptitude, structured and analytical working methods, teamwork skills, responsibility, commitment, reliability, and discretion.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
