Staff Data Scientist (AI)

What you will do

• Develop and test foundational modeling approaches using neural networks, embeddings, transformers, and other deep learning architectures.
• Build and refine frameworks that integrate with existing ML pipelines for credit modeling and loss prediction.
• Apply pretraining, fine-tuning, and modern representation learning techniques to real financial data.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product partners to turn complex ideas into practical solutions.
• Design and ship specialized agents using agentic development tools to support data science and business workflows.
• Measure model impact through customer, partner, and business outcomes; share findings and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• Experience with deep learning, including neural networks, embeddings, or transformers.
• Comfort working with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.
• Experience applying machine learning to real-world problems.
• Experience in financial services, such as credit, lending, payments, or banking, is required for the domain focus.
• Ability to connect data science work to measurable business outcomes.
• Clear, thoughtful communication and the ability to explain technical ideas accessibly.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience building with LLMs or agent frameworks.
• Interest in learning and applying agentic tools to multiply the impact of a small, senior team.
