Senior Principal Digital Engineer - DE & Kubernetes Tool Administrator

Location: Washington DC, D.C., United States. Onsite; no remote or telework allowed.

Salary: Projected annual compensation range of $105,199.68–$175,856.18.

What you will do

• Develop and implement Digital Engineering strategies supporting Department of Defense and commercial customer initiatives.
• Deploy and configure MBSE and Digital Engineering COTS tools, including Cameo, Magic, SAM, Syndeia, eCube, and SBE Vision.
• Configure assets in Azure Cloud and/or Amazon Web Services.
• Architect, build, secure, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud or on-premises environments.
• Guide internal and customer teams on Digital Engineering best practices, emerging technologies, and system configuration.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements and solutions while coordinating with systems engineers, software developers, project managers, and customer administrators.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; experience expectations are BS 8–10 years, MS 6–8 years, or PhD 3–5 years.
• Expertise with major versions of Linux and Windows Server.
• Experience configuring COTS software to fit customer requirements and processes.
• Knowledge of IT concepts and best practices, including cybersecurity.
• Extensive Kubernetes experience and knowledge of containerization best practices.
• Fluency in MBSE, Digital Engineering, Digital Threads, and Digital Transformation concepts.
• Experience designing production-grade clusters across multi-cloud or on-premises environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively with senior customers, present to groups, prioritize work, and interpret and adjudicate user needs.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Java and enterprise databases such as Cassandra and DB2.
• Knowledge of Agile terminology, theories, and best practices.
• Familiarity with Department of Defense and Intelligence Community regulations, directives, policies, and ATO compliance.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting workflows.
• Experience identifying, researching, and testing alternative solutions.
• Technical management, mentoring, personnel development, and continuous-learning experience or interest.
• Experience with core systems engineering disciplines, including requirements, schedule, risk, readiness, and system closure.
