Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid role

Base salary: $129,000–$193,500 per year, with potential incentive compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Research, track, and write finished intelligence reports on cybercriminal threat actors, malicious tools and services, TTPs, campaigns, and related topics.
• Conduct proactive research into dark web threat actors, money laundering operations, hacktivists, and cybercriminal groups.
• Source, collect, and curate data for the hirify.global Intelligence Cloud using AI-assisted triage.
• Create and maintain access to underground sources and personas, including engagement with threat actors to obtain non-public information.
• Support customer and internal requests, present findings to customers and at conferences, and collaborate with Insikt Group teams.
• Develop ideas for automations and AI-assisted workflows and share production best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in cyber intelligence, cybersecurity, cybercriminal investigations, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of analytic tradecraft, the intelligence cycle, OSINT gathering, intelligence writing, and research methodologies.
• Advanced knowledge of operational security procedures and practices.
• Demonstrated experience operating on dark web forums, marketplaces, shops, and communication platforms.
• Experience engaging with cybercriminals and participating in covert operations involving sensitive information.
• Knowledge of cybercriminal economies and regional cybercrime trends, including communication vectors, source locations, and operational security considerations.
• Experience handling, transacting in, and tracing cryptocurrencies, with knowledge of blockchain and cryptocurrency investigations.
• Knowledge of money laundering, fraud, and current cybercrime TTPs.
• Ability to explain research findings clearly to customers and present confidently to customers and at conferences.
• Ability to collaborate in a globally distributed environment.
• Russian and Eastern European language fluency or professional proficiency.
• Regular hands-on use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT for research and writing; ability to create clear prompts, iterate, fact-check, and edit AI output for validity and objectivity.

Nice to have

• BA/BS or MA/MS degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, International Relations, Security Studies, Regional Studies, Criminology, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of the cybercriminal ecosystem and relationships between cybercriminal, hacktivist, extremist, and state-sponsored operations.
• Technical knowledge of malware trends, including ransomware and its impact on entities.
• Practical experience integrating or leveraging LLMs such as GPT, Claude, or Gemini in applications, tools, or workflows.
