Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom; hybrid working with predominantly remote options, but applicants must be based or willing to relocate within a comfortable commuting distance of the office for required onsite attendance.

What you will do

• Lead and contribute to the cloud migration programme, including lift-and-shift migrations into AWS.
• Make architectural decisions and design infrastructure with the Cloud Platform team and Principal Cloud Tech Engineer.
• Apply infrastructure as code across legacy internal systems and new cloud deployments to reduce technical debt and improve reliability.
• Support production-critical game servers, web servers, and backend infrastructure across data centres and cloud environments.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and develop the team's cloud capability.
• Participate in an on-call rota currently scheduled as one week in five, Monday to Monday.

Requirements

• Strong demonstrable experience with Linux and AWS, including IAM, EKS, ECS, CloudWAN, and Direct Connect/SiteLink, with the ability to lead AWS projects.
• Proven experience applying infrastructure as code, with deployed projects to demonstrate.
• Solid networking knowledge and familiarity with VyOS, Palo Alto, and Arista.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and a DevOps mindset, including building and maintaining reliable delivery infrastructure.
• Experience with on-premise environments and their interconnection with cloud infrastructure in a hybrid setup.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn across a broad and evolving technical remit.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with configuration management tooling, preferably Puppet.
• Kubernetes experience.
• Experience in gaming, VFX, or other creative technical environments.
