Data Scientist IV

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States. Onsite; no remote or telework allowed.

Projected compensation range: $99,059.77–$238,039.14 annually.

What you will do

• Identify, assess, and integrate diverse data streams to support mission and targeting requirements.
• Design real-time data processing techniques and troubleshoot delivery across networks.
• Develop data-driven solutions, targeting methodologies, and user-friendly interfaces for targeters, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze unstructured and semi-structured data using entity identification, tagging, latent semantic indexing, conceptual search, and complex event processing.
• Apply machine learning, clustering, and analysis algorithms across distributed, clustered, and cloud-based high-performance infrastructures.
• Collaborate with government, contractor, commercial, and non-IC partner personnel to address prioritized mission needs.

Requirements

• Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• Experience level: BS 8–10 years, MS 6–8 years, or PhD 3–5 years.
• Knowledge of the Sponsor’s environment and experience working with sensitive commercial partners and commercial data sets.
• Experience presenting data analysis results to support technical development and decision-making.
• Experience with software development stacks including Java, Linux, Ruby, Python, .NET, C#, or C++.
• Experience with data transport and transformation technologies and APIs, including JSON, XML, XSLT, JDBC, SOAP, or REST.
• Experience with cloud-based and distributed data processing technologies such as Hadoop, Mahout, Accumulo, Hive, Impala, or Pig; visual analytics platforms; and text processing and search technologies such as Lucene, Sphinx, Nutch, or Solr.
• Knowledge of entity extraction, conceptual search, semantic analysis, machine learning, algorithm development, data clustering, and data science methodologies.
