Cell Mechanical Design Engineer (Li-ion Battery)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design and modeling for cylindrical cell development.
• Develop tab and tabless cylindrical cell designs, including 4680 and 2170 formats.
• Develop the supplier network for Li-ion cell components.
• Support the product technology roadmap and cell process engineering team.
• Support module development by ensuring rational integration of cells into modules and packs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in Li-ion battery cell, module, or pack development.
• Experience with Li-ion cylindrical cells, particularly 4680 or 2170 formats.
• Experience in mechanical design and modeling, including NVH and crush analysis.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, and root-cause analysis.
• Knowledge of APQP and 4M management.

Nice to have

• Experience in Li-ion battery safety modeling.
• Experience in Li-ion battery cell assembly, including pouch cells.
