TL;DR
Senior Observability Engineer (Java): Assisting customers with Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions software and hardware setup, telemetry enablement, and observability dashboards with an accent on logging, monitoring, tracing, and customer-specific technology stacks. Focus on troubleshooting Java applications, performing root cause analysis, and guiding customers across different technical levels.
Location: Guadalajara, Mexico; onsite, full-time.

What you will do
- Assist customers with setting up Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions software and hardware.
- Enable telemetry for logging, monitoring, and tracing using customer technology stacks.
- Guide customers in creating observability dashboards and defining metrics.
- Write, troubleshoot, and debug well-designed, testable, and efficient Java applications.
- Triage and document customer-reported issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Communicate with application architects, technical stakeholders, and end users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 6 years of professional experience in software development or L3 support roles using Java.
- Experience with microservices architectures, including cloud- or web-based content.
- Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Git, Maven, Docker, MongoDB, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, a self-driven approach, a performance-driven mindset, and the ability to identify and meet KPIs.
- Ability to communicate at different technical levels, from application architects to end users.
- Fluent English.
Nice to have
- Leadership skills and experience working with international customers.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and retail applications.
- Frontend experience with JavaScript, Vue.js, NodeJS, and TypeScript.
- Linux and Windows experience.
- Experience with Selenium, Cucumber, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Datadog.
