Structural Engineer (m/f/d) (Aerospace)

Location: Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, Germany; hybrid and mobile work options are available, including mobile work abroad.

What you will do

• Design and size satellite structures, define structural concepts and load conditions, assess feasibility, and identify critical areas.
• Define structural specifications and support systems engineering through load derivations and high-level analyses at system and subsystem level.
• Execute, verify, and assess structural analyses, including model creation, cost-benefit evaluations, and structural design optimization.
• Define, plan, and technically execute structural tests with AIT, including test predictions, result evaluation, and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership to structural analysts and coordinate and control subcontractors in alignment with project and subcontract management.
• Support project management, reviews, bids, technical studies, structural documentation, and departmental processes, tools, and technologies.

Requirements

• University degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics with experience in dynamic, static, acoustic, and/or thermoelastic analyses.
• Experience in systems engineering and confident use of software tools for structural analysis and system modeling.
• Excellent communication skills, strong willingness to collaborate, and a well-structured and organized working style.
• Leadership capability with experience supervising structural analysts technically.
• Results- and cost-oriented mindset, confident and professional demeanor, and willingness to travel regularly to customers and suppliers.
