Accountant (Manufacturing Finance & SAP)

Location: Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia; onsite at the Johor Malaysia office

What you will do

• Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset creation in SAP, depreciation runs, asset tagging, physical audits, and Capex tracking against budget.
• Support inventory accounting through stock adjustments, cycle counts, inventory valuation, FIFO reviews, and monitoring of raw materials, WIP, finished goods, provisions, stock turns, and days of supply.
• Perform cost centre spend analysis, variance reporting, forecasting, and management reporting to support business performance.
• Partner with Production, Planning, Procurement, Sourcing, Warehouse, and other operational stakeholders to identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Support month-end close, accruals, foreign exchange revaluation, AR and AP aging reviews, and working capital management.
• Support internal controls, internal and statutory audits, and tax schedules across AR, AP, GL, Treasury, Fixed Assets, and Inventory processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• Strong SAP experience.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting, costing, fixed assets, budgeting, and month-end close processes.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different levels of the business.

Nice to have

• Exposure across multiple finance functions such as Costing, FP&A, Manufacturing Finance, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Reporting, or Commercial Finance through rotations or broad-based roles.
• Experience partnering directly with operational and plant leadership teams.
• Exposure to forecasting, planning, and business performance analysis.
