Engineering Manager (DNS)

Location: Hybrid, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; on-site engineering leadership presence in Kuala Lumpur is required.

What you will do

• Lead a newly formed centralized DNS management team.
• Standardize and consolidate DNS management practices across Gen.
• Develop security and resilience improvements, including perimeter-defense controls, monitoring, and visibility measures.
• Align DNS strategy with organizational security objectives and maintain foundational security functions.
• Collaborate with security and cross-functional teams to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• Build and develop a high-performing team, manage strategic initiatives, and communicate technical strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DNS operations, network engineering, or related infrastructure domains, including 3+ years in engineering management or technical leadership.
• Strong knowledge of network security principles, perimeter defense strategies, enterprise security frameworks, and risk management.
• Knowledge of development practices in a fast-paced, cloud-centric environment.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex technical initiatives.
• Experience driving standardization and consolidation across large organizations.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with high-availability infrastructure, disaster recovery planning, automation, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements and audit processes, and experience in a global or multi-regional organization.
• Background in cybersecurity or security operations; certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, or equivalent.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, and Google Cloud DNS.
