Senior Kick-Stage Integration Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the vehicle build from assembly start through integration onto the launch vehicle.
• Integrate propulsion components, tubes, avionics, payloads, sensors, cables, and harnessing.
• Develop, execute, and document critical system-level tests with subsystem owners.
• Coordinate test readiness reviews, anomaly resolution, configuration control, and system activation.
• Build and manage multidisciplinary schedules, track build issues, and drive spacecraft delivery on time.
• Communicate with propulsion, avionics, structures, software, test, manufacturing, and technician teams while providing design feedback across the spacecraft lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience integrating, designing, and/or building an aerospace, industrial, chemical, or material manufacturing process.
• At least 3 years of demonstrated experience with pneumatic, electrical, and/or hydraulic functional test stands and testing.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and provide innovative solutions to problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively at a technical level across multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of experience integrating, designing, and/or building an aerospace, industrial, chemical, or material manufacturing process.
• Experience with spacecraft mechanical and propulsion integration, including mechanical assembly, torquing, bonding, pressure testing, and hazardous operations testing.
• Experience with Siemens NX, SOLIDWORKS, or similar CAD software.
• Experience reading, interpreting, drafting, and updating piping and instrumentation schematics.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface control documents.
• Excellent written and oral communication, including translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Hands-on mechanical experience with welding, automotive systems, pumps and valves, rocketry, or similar equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
