Manager, Physical Security & Life Safety (AI Healthcare)

Location: On-site at the San Francisco, CA office, United States

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Own physical security operations for the San Francisco office, including access control, visitor management, CCTV, alarm monitoring, and key management.
• Manage the contract security guard force, including staffing, schedules, post orders, patrols, training, escorts, and performance.
• Develop and maintain life safety programs, fire safety plans, emergency action plans, evacuation and shelter-in-place procedures, and AED/first aid readiness.
• Lead physical security and life safety incident response, investigations, after-action reports, and corrective actions.
• Conduct facility risk assessments and security audits; manage security technology vendors, maintenance, standards, and upgrades.
• Partner with Facilities, IT, and People teams on office buildouts, access integrations, onboarding and offboarding procedures, employee safety, training, and local threat communications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in physical security, corporate security, or a related field, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or site-lead capacity.
• Hands-on experience managing a contract security guard force, including staffing, scheduling, post orders, training, and performance accountability.
• Strong vendor and contractor management skills, including vendor relationships, contract negotiation, and service standards.
• Experience developing or managing life safety programs, fire and evacuation plans, emergency action plans, and drills.
• Experience leading physical security incident response in an urban environment, including de-escalation, documentation, and coordination with law enforcement when needed.
• Working knowledge of access control systems such as Verkada, Genetec, Brivo, or Lenel, plus video management/CCTV, intrusion detection, and visitor management platforms.
• Familiarity with OSHA, fire codes, and building safety standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels; strong organization, self-direction, judgment, and calm under pressure.

Nice to have

• CPP or PSP certification.
• Experience in a high-growth technology or healthcare company where the security program evolved with the business.
• Familiarity with workplace violence prevention and threat assessment methodologies.
• Emergency management background, including CPR/AED certification, CERT training, or equivalent.
• Exposure to in-house executive protection programs.
• Active participation in the physical security community or professional organizations.
