Principal Ground Integration Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States. The role requires eligibility as a U.S. Person under ITAR or eligibility for a federally issued export control license.

Base salary: $200,000–$250,000 plus company equity.

What you will do

• Define and execute the long-term vision for end-to-end ground systems integration.
• Lead investment in in-house ground infrastructure and manage relationships with third-party mission partners.
• Architect ground systems that operate across multiple classification levels and support secure constellation operations.
• Build and support a team integrating new and legacy ground systems across RF and optical ground segments.
• Partner with Ground Software Applications and Flight Software teams to deliver integrations and new mission capabilities.
• Represent hirify.global in recruiting, industry events, customer interactions, and strategic partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or another STEM discipline, or 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of department- or organization-level leadership experience.
• Experience deploying and integrating sophisticated hardware and software systems.
• Proven success building and scaling high-impact engineering teams.
• Strong track record delivering enterprise-scale solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Deep experience with classified systems and their security requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or mission-critical systems.
• Proficiency in Python, C#.NET, Go, Java, or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with modern programming languages, cloud systems, CI/CD, and container orchestration using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience fostering team culture, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Understanding of system architectures supporting ground and orbital systems for government and commercial space missions.
