Data Architect (Data Engineering)

Location: Hybrid, Amstelplein 1, Amsterdam, Netherlands; work takes place across the office, home, and client sites.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements and co-design data engineering solutions from strategy through execution.
• Build scalable data pipelines and architectures for ingesting, processing, and delivering structured and unstructured data.
• Design cloud and distributed data solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
• Develop data models and optimize relational, NoSQL, time-series, and graph database solutions.
• Implement batch, streaming, and real-time data integration, as well as CI/CD and DataOps practices.
• Manage stakeholders, advise middle and senior-level management, develop client relationships, and mentor junior to medior consultants.

Requirements

• Completed WO Master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, (Energy) Engineering, or a related technical field involving substantial programming.
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent academic research.
• Proven interest in Data Engineering and a strong interest in data and AI-related topics.
• Strong analytical and systematic problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ideas to varied audiences.
• Adaptability, fast learning ability, structured and proactive working style, and entrepreneurial drive.
• Demonstrated stakeholder-management, team-guidance, mentoring, and professional-development capabilities.
• Fluency in Dutch with excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Nice to have

• Fluency in German or French.
