Manufacturing Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite manufacturing role.

Salary: $104,000–$156,000 USD per year.

hirify.global develops and manufactures the Terran R reusable rocket and the production systems required to deliver customer payloads to orbit.

What you will do

• Own the application of paint and thermal protection system materials from design release through installation on the Terran R launch vehicle.
• Develop efficient, high-quality build flows that can scale with production requirements.
• Drive first builds and improve product lines through design integration, assembly sequencing, mBOM development, work order creation, and specification authoring.
• Support shop-floor and production personnel through issue resolution and provide feedback to engineering teams.
• Monitor large-scale part movements and promote safe operations through clear direction.
• Develop and implement manufacturing capabilities that improve process capability, quality, and throughput while collaborating with Engineering, Build Reliability, Supply Chain, and external partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, mechanical, or another engineering discipline, plus 2+ years of progressive and related work experience.
• 3D and 2D design and drafting experience in accordance with ASME Y14.5M; NX is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interfacing with engineering and manufacturing groups, understanding process constraints, and providing design inputs for improved manufacturability.
• Working experience with at least two of the following: adhesive bonding, soft goods manufacturing, coating processes, machining, mechanical fastening and torquing operations, trim and drill operations, composites manufacturing, critical lifting, tool design and fabrication, or work center development.
• Ability to perform trade studies using first principles and engineering fundamentals.
• Self-motivation and the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

• Successful new product introduction of an aerospace hardware product or process.
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of typical manufacturing execution systems and quality management systems.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
