Senior Manager, Commissioning (Data Centers)

Location: Full-time, on-site presence at Helios in Afton, Texas, United States.

What you will do

• Own commissioning across the Helios campus from design intent review through Level 1–5 commissioning, integrated systems testing, and turnover to operations.
• Manage three Commissioning Managers, standardize methods and reporting, balance resources across facilities, and develop team capability.
• Define commissioning plans, acceptance criteria, test standards, and readiness gates aligned with the Owner’s Project Requirements and Basis of Design.
• Review test scripts, sequences, and IST scenarios for critical power, mechanical cooling, BAS, EPMS, controls, and telemetry.
• Coordinate the general contractor, trade partners, OEMs, third-party commissioning agent, energization, load-bank testing, issue closeout, and P6 schedule integration.
• Deliver operational readiness through documentation, training, operating procedures, witnessed testing, customer acceptance, and formal turnover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience commissioning mission-critical facilities, including 5+ years on large-scale data centers and at least 3 years directing commissioning through Level 5 / IST.
• Experience leading commissioning across multiple concurrent facilities on a single campus.
• Experience managing and developing commissioning managers or engineers and leading high-performing technical teams.
• Deep technical knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution, protective relaying, UPS, batteries, generators, transfer systems, chilled water plants, heat rejection, air handling, pumps, and associated controls.
• Working knowledge of BMS, EPMS, SCADA architectures, sequences of operation, and fire and life safety system integration.
• Experience developing, executing, and witnessing IST, including failure-mode and fault scenarios.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE Guideline 0, NETA acceptance testing standards, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 110.
• Experience directing GC commissioning teams and third-party commissioning agents, with command of test documentation, issue tracking, and Primavera P6 schedule integration.
• Familiarity with Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and commissioning management platforms.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder influence, judgment under pressure, safety focus, and commitment to rigorous execution.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license or commissioning certification such as CxA, CCP, or BCxP.
• Prior owner-side or owner’s representative experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
