Senior Associate, Financial Accounting

Location: Arlington, VA, United States; hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Current US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $76,000–$80,000.

What you will do

• Prepare monthly cash, balance sheet, salary and wages reconciliations, related journal entries, and variance reports.
• Record cash receipts, maintain company credit card acquittals, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
• Support project teams with QuickBooks setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Provide backup finance operations support, including accounts payable payment releases.
• Assist with local legal entity trial balances and support corporate, project, payroll, indirect cost, and external audits.
• Respond to ad hoc financial and accounting requests and collaborate with corporate stakeholders, project teams, managers, employees, and external service providers.

Requirements

• Professional experience with demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to move between systems, processes, technical detail, strategy development, and issue resolution.
• Experience with US GAAP is required. IFRS experience is preferred, while government accounting regulations, CAS, and FAR experience are strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Exposure to treasury and foreign exchange.
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to resolve complex issues, build strong relationships, and deliver outcomes.
• Strong analytical, planning, and financial management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple competing projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Current US work authorization is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and QuickBooks.
