Workday Canadian Payroll Senior Lead/Manager (Workday Payroll)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; home-based work in Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, or Quebec, Canada. Travel to customer sites in the same region may be required, with minimal out-of-region travel.

What you will do

• Implement and configure enterprise-scale Workday Payroll solutions, typically leading a functional project workstream through the full project lifecycle.
• Understand customer business requirements and deliver solutions that are fit for purpose and commercially viable.
• Build customer relationships, provide guidance, manage expectations, and present complex functionality or solutions to senior client audiences.
• Support junior consultants through mentoring, knowledge sharing, role modelling, and potential line management.
• Support sales activities, including producing delivery estimates for work packages and contributing to project and commercial decisions.
• Assist AMS and internal practice teams, improve tools and processes, and participate in Workday delivery services and internal discussions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of Workday Payroll implementation experience and at least 3 years leading Workday Payroll implementations end to end, including the last 4 years.
• Certification in at least one Workday Payroll country and one additional Workday module.
• Experience building complex payroll calculations, working with multiple positions, and implementing multiple FEINs.
• Strong understanding of Workday Payroll and Canadian Payroll.
• Experience with payroll regulatory requirements, including tax, garnishments, Common Pay Master, retirement benefits such as 401K and RRSPs, payroll processing, unions or collective bargaining agreements, and payroll accounting.
• Strong customer focus, consulting, communication, presentation, relationship-building, and expectation-management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project and business dynamics, utilization targets, and services-organization operations.
• Broad business and technology understanding, with awareness of trends in human resource management, financials, enterprise resource planning, or payroll.
• Ability to lead a functional workstream, work to tight deadlines, make balanced decisions under pressure, maintain external networks, mentor or manage junior consultants, and travel to customer sites when required.

Nice to have

• Workday HCM and Canadian Payroll certification.
• Professional qualifications in the area of expertise, such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
• Experience in post-deployment services.
