Senior Staff Product Manager (AI-Driven API Management Platform)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay range: $205,500–$278,000 per year in Mountain View; the position may also be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and drive the multi-year vision, strategy, roadmap, business case, and investment priorities for the AI-driven API management platform.
• Lead API catalog and discovery, governance, security, compliance, validation, and developer self-service capabilities.
• Apply AI across the API lifecycle, including AI-assisted API design and specification generation and intelligent policy and security recommendations.
• Enable agent-ready APIs through standards such as Model Context Protocol and define governance and controls for LLM and AI-agent access.
• Partner with engineering, product, development, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Legal, and business leaders to manage dependencies, prioritize work, and drive adoption across business units.
• Represent hirify.global in open-source and industry communities including CNCF, Istio, GraphQL, and OpenAPI, while championing developer experience and influencing technical direction.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and delivering platform products for large-scale distributed systems and platforms. Experience with API management, API catalogs, gateways, service mesh, or developer platforms is strongly preferred.
• Deep understanding of API design and lifecycle management, including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and OpenAPI, as well as API security, governance, the SDLC, and developer needs.
• Experience building or applying AI, ML, or GenAI capabilities in products, with a strong understanding of LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Good understanding of defining and building SaaS services, products, and infrastructure at scale.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment and driving backlog grooming and prioritization.
• Product development and technical experience, either as an engineer, in a previous hands-on technical role, or through developing and presenting technical demos.
• Ability to take end-to-end responsibility for product success, set strategy, and influence senior leaders without direct authority.
• Ability to work closely with customers and partners using a customer-focused approach to strategy and prioritization, with strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and business audiences.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline required; equivalent work experience will be considered.
