VP, Threat Response & Global SOC Operations (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Define and execute the threat response strategy, roadmap, governance model, operating rhythm, and measurable performance improvements.
• Oversee the 90+ person, 24x7 SOC across monitoring, triage, investigation, response, escalation, quality assurance, workforce management, and customer-facing outcomes.
• Lead threat research covering data science-driven detection, detection engineering, threat hunting, emerging threats, and public-facing research.
• Drive AI adoption across SOC workflows, including investigation assistance, automation, workflow optimization, decision support, and analyst productivity.
• Oversee SOC architecture, tooling, platforms, integrations, data pipelines, automation, and program management.
• Build and lead a high-performing threat response organization while partnering with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, Sales, Marketing, and business leadership.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, security operations, threat detection and response, incident response, threat intelligence, detection engineering, data science, or related security leadership, including significant experience leading scaled operational and technical security teams.
• Previous experience as a VP Threat Response, Head of SOC, Head of Detection and Response, Head of Threat Research, VP Security Operations, MDR leader, or equivalent senior security leader, ideally in cybersecurity, SaaS, managed security services, cloud, or product-led technology.
• Experience leading or transforming a 24x7 SOC or mission-critical threat response organization, including operational execution, quality management, workforce scale, customer escalation management, and continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of MDR, SIEM, EDR/XDR, threat hunting, detection engineering, threat intelligence, case management, SOC automation, security analytics, and incident response.
• Experience applying AI, machine learning, data science, analytics, or automation to improve security operations, detection fidelity, response speed, and analyst productivity.
• Experience leading leaders across operations, research, architecture, program management, and technical security disciplines, with a record of building accountable, high-performing teams.
• Strong business judgment and customer orientation, including the ability to balance response quality, operational efficiency, analyst experience, customer commitments, product direction, and commercial priorities.
• Ability to communicate operational performance, threat trends, risk, trade-offs, transformation progress, and investment priorities to executives, customers, partners, and cross-functional leaders.
• Ability to stay current on threat actor tactics, AI-enabled threats, modern defensive practices, and emerging technologies.

Nice to have

• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent experience.
