Advanced Principal, Data Management (Securities Data)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; hybrid workplace model requiring at least four full days each week in an hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Lead the primary Securities Data Operations contact function for the U.S. and support the global Securities Data Operating Model and teams.
• Act as liaison for Trading, Front Office Operations, Investment Compliance, Risk, Data Product Owners, and Data Stewards.
• Participate in business-as-usual process improvements and transformation initiatives, including hands-on securities data work when needed.
• Oversee offshore teams, operational outsourcing partners, and data vendors including State Street, Bloomberg, and Refinitiv.
• Support data governance designs, process improvements, best practices, and contemporary data governance initiatives.
• Produce operational metrics covering securities setup, data issues, vendor SLA violations, and market data challenges.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Securities Reference Data experience, including setting up securities and leading teams responsible for securities setup and data management.
• Experience leading global Securities Data teams and interacting with outsourced vendor operating models; Alpha or State Street middle-office experience is a plus.
• Excellent knowledge of equities, fixed income, listed derivatives, and over-the-counter derivatives.
• Strong knowledge of front-to-back trading and investment processes through buy-side asset management experience; relevant sell-side experience may be considered.
• Experience with Security Master applications such as Markit EDM/Opus EDM, GoldenSource, or proprietary systems, and with OMS platforms including CRD and Aladdin.
• Detailed knowledge of market data vendors including Bloomberg, Refinitiv, RIMES, Intex, and Markit, including security and issuer classifications.
• Experience handling time-sensitive securities data requests involving pre-trade compliance, trading data, client reporting accuracy, corporate actions, and pricing issues.
• Fluency in financial data, with the ability to interpret prospectuses and securities filings such as SEC and Bloomberg materials, read financial statements, determine countries of revenue and issue, and prepare research write-ups.

• Understanding of contemporary data governance practices and philosophies.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and experience writing SQL.
