Azure Tech Lead (Azure Integration)

Location: Hybrid working from home and the Tech Hub in Coimbra, with monthly visits required.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction, architecture, and governance of the Azure Integration estate, including APIs, event-driven systems, messaging platforms, and enterprise integrations.
• Lead and develop integration engineers through line management, mentoring, technical reviews, recruitment support, and career planning.
• Design and deliver Azure Integration Services solutions using API Management, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Data Factory.
• Own the Integration Developer Platform, enable self-service deployment, and drive Terraform-based infrastructure automation and reusable engineering templates.
• Promote CI/CD, GitOps, automated testing, DevSecOps, AI-assisted development, monitoring, incident management, and operational automation.
• Drive secure integration design, observability, reliability, governance, and FinOps-led cloud cost optimization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise integration solutions, with significant Microsoft Azure experience.
• Strong experience with Azure Integration Services and hands-on experience with Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Key Vault, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
• Experience designing API-led, event-driven, and microservices architectures, with deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, plus experience implementing CI/CD with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Strong knowledge of Git, DevOps, DevSecOps, automated testing, and release management.
• Demonstrable experience leading engineering teams, mentoring engineers, managing stakeholders, and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with distributed teams and offshore delivery models.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Networking, and secure integration design.
• Pragmatic, outcome-focused decision-making, strong problem-solving, communication, influencing, collaboration, and continuous-learning skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing applications with C#, .NET, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Experience with MuleSoft, Kafka, or AWS.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification.
• Experience building Internal Developer Platforms or implementing AI-enabled software delivery practices.
• Experience in highly regulated or large-scale enterprise environments.
• FinOps certification or demonstrable cloud cost optimization experience.
