Senior Product Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY; on-site four days per week and remote one day per week.

Salary: $225,000–$325,000 annual base salary plus meaningful equity.

hirify.global builds AI-powered software for roofing, HVAC, plumbing, remodeling, and other home-service businesses, handling customer interactions across voice, SMS, and email.

What you will do

• Own customer-facing products and features from identifying the problem through launch, iteration, and measuring outcomes.
• Build across interfaces, APIs, and data layers, including unified messaging, booking experiences, agent management, reporting, analytics, and hirify.global’s API and MCP interfaces.
• Shape the roadmap with product by balancing customer value, technical complexity, timelines, cost, and reliability.
• Create polished customer experiences in TypeScript and React for complex operational workflows.
• Define success metrics, implement instrumentation, and use adoption data and customer feedback to guide improvements.
• Ship in short iteration cycles, communicate tradeoffs, and take responsibility for testing, debugging, and reliability. At Staff level, help set direction across product areas and improve broader engineering effectiveness while remaining hands-on.

Requirements

• Substantial experience building products for external customers, including ownership decisions, user feedback, and product improvement.
• Fluency in TypeScript and React, with the ability to follow features across the stack and learn unfamiliar systems.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to question assumptions and make decisions with incomplete information.
• Good user-experience instincts and close collaboration with product and design.
• Experience using instrumentation, adoption metrics, or experimentation to measure post-launch value.
• Independence, initiative, progress through ambiguity, and clear communication of decisions, risks, and changing expectations.
• Desire to work in an early-stage startup with broad responsibility and rapid iteration.

Nice to have

• Experience building products at a strong startup.
• Experience with Python or PostgreSQL.
• Experience shipping AI-powered products or production agents.
