Principal Software Architect (AI)

Location: 100% remote for candidates residing in the eastern half of the USA, the UK, or Poland.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and deploy scalable, production-grade services across the core hirify.global software platform.
• Define architectural standards and reference patterns while decoupling the current monolith into modular services.
• Partner with the Director of Engineering on frontend framework consolidation, operational performance, and observability.
• Design for security, cost efficiency, system efficiency, and ISO 27001 expectations.
• Integrate secure AI/LLM patterns into customer-facing surfaces with operational guardrails and failure modes for the Quality API.
• Advise executive, product, and engineering stakeholders on technical tradeoffs and translate business needs into technical strategies.

Requirements

• 15+ years of hands-on software development experience building cloud-native, business-critical platforms.
• Advanced mastery of distributed system patterns, data modeling, event-driven design, and relational and NoSQL database technologies.
• Proven experience designing and migrating application infrastructure from monolithic architectures to modular services.
• Deep experience establishing enterprise-ready AWS patterns, including high availability, cost optimization, and secure infrastructure.
• Strong familiarity with modern full-stack environments, including frontend web frameworks, scripting languages, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Production-grade experience deploying AI/ML or LLM-based solutions with observable and safe automation patterns.
• Fluent English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presenting advanced architecture concepts to business leaders.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, take ownership of problems, guide distributed engineering teams without direct authority, and communicate technical decisions asynchronously across global time zones.
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to balance long-term technology vision with short-term implementation constraints.
