Senior Software Engineer, UI Tooling (Full Stack iOS)

Location: US - Remote Eligible; must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required by agreement with the manager.

Salary: $196,000–$227,000 USD base pay per year, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

What you will do

• Drive the technical direction, architecture, implementation, and scaling of AirChatUI, an AI prototyping harness and native macOS app.
• Design and build macOS and iOS features using modern declarative UI and unidirectional state architecture.
• Develop web-based prototyping functionality in Kyber and integrate it with AirChatUI.
• Develop AI skills and agents for product feature prototyping and support AirChat CLI and AirChat Remote.
• Write and review code with human and AI coding agents while maintaining quality, availability, and system health.
• Partner with Infrastructure, Product, Security, and Design to build platform capabilities for designers, product managers, and other non-technical builders.

Requirements

• 5–9+ years of industry experience, ideally in fast-paced environments, with a record of shipping features in large-scale consumer applications.
• Full-stack engineering capability across backend, frontend, mobile, APIs, and system architecture.
• Proficiency in Swift and modern iOS architecture, including declarative UI such as SwiftUI, unidirectional state management such as MVI, MVVM, or Redux-style patterns, and dependency injection.
• Experience building customer-facing products from zero to one, including product definition, technical architecture, development, and launch.
• Solid understanding of mobile app performance, accessibility, and release and CI practices for large-scale consumer apps.
• Product-first engineering mindset, with technical decisions focused on customer products.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience driving initiatives across teams, departments, and leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern web development tooling, including TypeScript and React.
